Madden NFL 23 is here, with the latest edition of the classic video game series releasing Friday, Aug. 19, on the Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows platforms After iconic coach and broadcaster John Madden died on Last Year, this year's game was always going to be at least part about legacy; that's why Madden is back on the cover of all three editions. It's the first time in over two decades that Madden will be the focal point of the cover.

Madden is literally all over the game. He appears as a coaching character in certain modes, and there's now an All-Madden Legacy mode of the game to be played as well. This is in addition to the changes made to the game itself by EA Sports and the modes already ingrained into the culture of the game.

The franchise mode has altered its free agency module (finally), altered the offering of contracts to free agents and how draft classes shake out. EA Sports added better draft and trade logic, too. In Ultimate Team, there are now more ways to progress. Developers paid attention to changes in game play from last year's version, called "FieldSENSE" to try and up the realism between the lines.

The hope is it's a better game than last season -- although often what so many people care about is who is rated where and what it all might mean. With the game launching Friday, we have got you covered with the information of players (and teams) you need to know, from the highest-rated rookies and players with the best hands to the most elusive players and the league's best spin moves.

The Games on Demand version of Tales of Vesperia was last confirmed available in North America on February 9, 2022. By March 30th, the game’s availability was questioned on the game’s TrueAchievements.com page.

The cause for the delisting is uncertain. Possibilities include changes to Namco’s corporate structure over the years and across the regions. Some older releases are credited simply to ‘Namco’ where newer titles read ‘Namco Bandai Games’, neither of which represent the current entity of ‘Bandai NAMCO’. The game may also have been delisted to entice players towards the newer Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition release.

Apples to Apples was last confirmed available on Xbox 360 in mid-October of 2012, when it and other THQ published titles were on sale. By December 15th, the game was removed from the Xbox Marketplace, and was most likely delisted on PlayStation 3 at the same time. Apples to Apples was delisted due to THQ’s bankruptcy in December of 2012.

The Xbox 360 Games on Demand version of Bakugan Battle Brawlers was last confirmed available in North America on April 24, 2013. The game was removed from the Xbox Marketplace in Europe by September 3, 2013, and was presumably delisted in North America around the same time. The game was delisted due to Activision’s expired Bakugan license.

Although Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 have been temporarily removed from sale for nearly nine months, Konami took a moment on the series’ 35th anniversary today to provide a brief update. The @metalgear_jp twitter account tweeted that work is still ongoing and that the titles delisted last November will return to sale… sometime. A little more detail would’ve been nice but hopefully we don’t have much longer to wait for their return.

The “METAL GEAR” series released on July 13, 1987 celebrated its 35th anniversary today. We are preparing to resume sales of titles that have been temporarily suspended. #METALGEAR #MG35th—Konami's Announcement.

To recap, the licensing of “historical footage” used in Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 had expired in late 2021. While Konami worked to renew the licensing the following titles were removed from sale on digital stores and have remained unavailable since:

  • Xbox 360 METAL GEAR SOLID HD EDITION: 2 & 3
  • NVIDIA® SHIELD™ METAL GEAR SOLID 2 HD for SHIELD TV
  • NVIDIA® SHIELD™ METAL GEAR SOLID 3 HD for SHIELD TV

On July 1 this is anniversary of the shutdown so lets start. Microsoft Studios announced in a blog post on June 27th, 2016 that the Xbox Fitness service on Xbox One would be terminated on July 1st, 2017. The sale of individual workouts was stopped on the day of the announcement while previously purchased workouts remain available through the end of the service.

Furthermore, on December 15th, 2016 the “Free with Gold” portion of Xbox Fitness will be removed. This feature allows Xbox Live Gold subscribers to stream free and previously purchased workouts. As of December 15th the only content that will be accessible are workouts users specifically choose to download to their console. Finally, on July 1st, 2017 the app and all associated content will no longer be available for use.

Just over a week later, on July 5th, the original blog post was updated to address outcry by users who had purchased content for Xbox Fitness. Within 90 days of the update Microsoft would deposit a credit for the value of any previous purchases to the users’ accounts for use on Xbox and Windows Store marketplaces, good for one year. The hastily written update states that previously purchased workouts will remain playable until “June 10th, 2017” but this is likely a typo and the original June 30th deadline stands.

No reason was given in the blog post but this was presumably an internal Microsoft decision. All content was removed from sale at the same time including exclusive workouts commissioned by Microsoft and those from numerous different rights holders ruling out licensing issues. It’s more likely that Xbox Fitness was terminated as Microsoft swung back towards a “gamers first” mentality after the Xbox One’s debut. It is also assumed that sales of content and active users of Xbox Fitness were below the cost to maintain servers and renew licensing deals to honor previously purchased content. It started on November 22,2013 (8th Years Ago) For the Xbox One Like the Same thing as the xbox one, forza motorsport 5. With other Online service Called 1 vs 100 , World Series of Poker:Full House Pro, Arcade room, Doritos Crash Course 2, Karaoke (2012 Xbox 360 Video Game) Were Shut Down in 2010s.

Technoblade, a top YouTube creator who specialized in Minecraft let’s-play videos, has died a year after he revealed a cancer diagnosis, according to a statement from his family. He was 23.

In an emotional YouTube video shared on Technoblade’s channel Thursday, the YouTuber’s father announced that his son had died. “He was the most amazing kid anyone could ever ask for,” his father said. “I miss Technoblade.”

If you’re watching this, I am dead,” Technoblade’s message said, revealing that his real name is Alex. “Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. I missed the news from VentureBeat early this morning announcing that Proletariat had been acquired by Activision Blizzard. That pretty much explains the reason for shutting down Spellbreak. The team of 100 will cease operating as Proletariat and will be folded into Blizzard to support World of Warcraft and its upcoming Dragonflight expansion. Our original post from this morning follows.

Proletariat announced on Tuesday that development work had ended on Spellbreak and that the game will shut down in “early 2023”. Spellbreak was the magic-based take on the battle royale genre that launched on consoles and PC (though an Epic Games Store exclusive for the first few months) in September of 2020.

While it probably enjoyed a bump in players thanks to the early days of the pandemic, it appears the game was not able to “reach a sustainable place” to continue development. Below is the official statement made on the game’s homepage followed by a post from Seth Sivak, CEO of Proletariat on the game’s subreddit.

After more than four years of elemental magic and spell combinations, we’ve made the decision to end development of Spellbreak. The servers will be shut down as of early 2023. Thank you to the millions of players who have joined us in the Hollow Lands since 2018; it’s been an amazing journey.

Our vision was to create a fresh, multiplayer action-spellcasting game with exceptional movement and class customization that would give players the chance to unleash their inner battlemage. We are grateful to everyone in the game’s community for exploring the magical worlds and experiences we created together. Spellbreak was an ambitious project that saw our team push new boundaries in design and development and we are excited to continue to innovate as we create new titles in the future.

To all Spellbreak fans around the world, thank you for the support and dedication that made the game and community so special.

—Sincerely, Spellbreak Development Team

Spellbreak started as an idea to create a revolutionary multiplayer fantasy experience. I feel we achieved that—in combat, art style, storytelling and more.

When we started development on Spellbreak, we thought we would be lucky if we got an early-access, PC-only release. The excitement and engagement from the community allowed us to push the boundaries on quality, gameplay, platforms, and more. Spellbreak was the first game ever released fully cross-platform with cross-play on day one across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Over 10 million players have dropped into the Hollow Lands, which is an incredible milestone for any new IP launching from any developer.

It is challenging to sum up the experience of both building Spellbreak and launching it to the world with the help of every single one of you. It is even more difficult to tell you that we will be shutting down Spellbreak early next year.

Unfortunately, the game industry is a difficult business. Spellbreak was not able to break through and reach a sustainable place where we could continue to invest in it in the way we had dreamed of. We picked a hard path as an independent studio and decided to compete with some of the biggest games in the world. While we could not get the escape velocity needed, I do not regret the bold decisions we made in bringing Spellbreak to life.

While this is goodbye for Spellbreak, I cannot thank this community enough for the support and help along the way. Spellbreak transformed our studio and touched the lives of so many. So again, thank you.

—Thanks, Seth Sivak, CEO of Proletariat Inc.

Although not stated outright in the above announcements, an in-game message currently shows a countdown to January 9th, 2023. All microtransaction purchases have also been removed from the game since the announcement was made. If you want to get back into the game or check it out before it’s gone, you can grab it on Epic GamesSteam and Xbox One.
